Who am I?
Hi there. My name is Juraj (pronounced your-eye 👀) and I’m a full-stack leader and builder, having gotten the privilege to operate as an early employee, executive, and early-stage founder. I joined Slido in 2016 and led Product, Partnerships, and GTM through 10X growth in employees, customers, and revenue, leading to an exit to Cisco in 2021. Following the acquisition, I joined Webex to help scale their collaboration app ecosystem, working across platform, developer experience, and business development. I was the founder of a conversational AI startup Sure, and also worked at On Deck on taking brand new products from 0 to 1.
I live in Vancouver, BC with my wife, daughter and our shepherd-mix rescue Simba. I’m originally from Slovakia but have called Copenhagen, Hong Kong, London, San Francisco, and New York my home.
Why am I starting this Substack?
I’m currently spending my time consulting and advising early-stage startups on everything product, partnerships, and GTM. This Substack is an experiment where I want to practice my writing and share my learnings in a true and vulnerable way. I hope that by expressing my authentic story and sharing what I’ve learned so far, I can support other startup leaders’ growth, and founders and builders will avoid making the same mistakes, build upon prior work, and as a result, improve upon it.
